Bartlett Traffic Stop Yields Drugs

A traffic stop in Bartlett by agents of the Ohio Organized Crime Investigations Commission on Tuesday, May 23 turned into an arrest for two Washington County residents on drug charges. 35 year old Derek Ryan Whytsell of Marietta and 30 year old April Nicole Calvert of Belpre are both charged with trafficking.

Whytsell was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and Calvert was in possession of an amount of heroin.

A K-9 performed a sniff of the vehicle indicating the presence of a controlled substance. During a search of the vehicle, 19.21 grams of meth was found beside the driver’s seat. He also admitted to having in his possession a cutting agent. Calvert was found to have concealed 1.33 grams of heroin on her person.

Whytsell and Calver remain in the Washington County Jail without bond pending an initial court appearance in Marietta Municipal Court.
