Shooting Suspect in Custody – Man Arrested for Stealing Scrap

It was a drug deal gone bad in south Parkersburg last night that led to the shooting of a 21 year old Belleville man. 20 year old Codi Douglas of Gihon Road was charged with malicious wounding and wanton endangerment after shooting Clayton Fleak in the face at a Pike Street address. Another man, 20 year old Joseph Rice of Washington, was arrested and charged with attempting to commit a felony. Rice was trying to sell heroin according to court records.

A Williamstown man was arrested by Washington County deputies after he was found breaking into Sky Metal Recovery in Marietta for scrap metal late Monday night. 48 year old Eddie Starcher of Coopers Ridge Road was discovered by employees who observed his pickup loaded with scrap. They confronted him and remained with him at the scene until authorities arrived. Starcher admitted taking about $1,000 worth of scrap metal from the business without permission. He was in possession of criminal tools including bolt cutters, pliers and a sledgehammer.
